Diana's owner, Mahmoud Safadi Abu al-Dukhol started out in 1963 by selling shish kebab to the patrons of the Diana cinema where he worked as an usher. Soon after he opened a kiosk next to the cinema where he would sell falafel and various kinds of kebab skewers.
Due to his incredible popularity Diana restaurant was opened across from the cinema in 1974 and the menu was expanded and included dishes with influenced by cuisines from all over the Middle East. The restaurant also serves a variety of seafood dishes.
In 1993 the restaurant was taken over by Abu al-Dukhol's son who eventually opened a second larger location in Nazareth. The average price per person ranges from 60-120 ₪.
